The Hallett Center of Crosby, MN is a unique community facility dedicated to better health for all.

General Manager: Maurice Slepica brings over 35 years of management experience to HCC. Prior to moving to the Cuyuna Range 20 years ago, Maurice spent 17 years in LasVegas, where he was a Food & Beverage executive for 15 years, before assuming control of the Santa Fe Ice Arena where he also coached and managed the professional hockey team, and a youth hockey school. Maurice played, coached and managed in minor-league professional hockey after attending Bemidji State. He has served on the Board of the Minnesota Ice Arena Managers Association and is on the Crosby-Ironton School District Board of Education. He and his wife, Lisa are parents to Ace , Tyler and Josef , and grandparents to Thaddeus and Dominik. Their hobbies include camping, gardening, traveling and church activities.
Operations Director: Shirley Hale has been a business professional for over 20 years. She brings a depth of experience and expertise to client organizations from her background in marketing and sales, financial management, and project management, as well as director level leadership in community service. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. After moving across the country five times in eight years, Shirley and her husband Floyd left the rat race and moved to the area in 1994. They are originally from suburban St. Paul. They have one son and two grandchildren. Shirley enjoys all forms of dance especially tap and jazz.
Wellness Coordinator: Justin Hoefer is a graduate of North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND with a major in Exercise Science. He completed an Internship at Duke University where he worked with a wide variety of clients, including post cardiac and pulmonary rehab. Justin is also an ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) Health and Fitness Specialist and a certified SilverSneakers group instructor. Some of Justin’s hobbies include hunting, playing basketball, triathlon, working-out, and spending time with family and friends.
Member Services Coordinator: Sandy Blood holds a Bachelor’s degree in both Business and Accounting from Methodist University, she has been a business professional for over 25 years. She brings a depth of experience and expertise to the Hallett Center of Crosby with her background in customer service, sales and bookkeeping. Her passion is reconciling numbers, along with meeting and visiting with all members and prospective members. She is married to Robert; between them they have 4 children and 7 grandkids. Sandy loves to icefish, garden, mountain bike, swim in the Mine Pits and spending time with GOD, family, friends, and her dog Sophie.
Sandy is a Board Member and a volunteer for the Cuyuna Range Youth Center, and serves on the Advisory Board for Cuyuna Range Medical Center.
Building Engineer: Buzz Neprud was hired in 2005 after owning his own “All Weather Remodeling” construction business for 25 years. He has served three terms on the Crosby City Council and the Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce Board. Buzz is also currently a member of the Crosby Economic Development Authority and HRA Board. He is a member of the Lion’s Club, MN Trappers Assn., a sponsor member of Ducks Unlimited and Past president of the Crosby Jaycees and past president of the C-I Sports Boosters. Buzz is a native of Shelly, MN.
